CALAMBA MOURNS DEATH OF SON

28 February 1998, Calamba, Laguna. ATTY BENJAMIN ALZONA ALONZO,
died of a heart attack, bought on by his Septicemia and other diabetic complications on February 25, 1998 at Calamba Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit where he had been hospitalized for almost 6 weeks. He had been under the care of 6 specialists; among those are a endocrinologist, an internists, a cardiologist and a nephrologist. This was the his 4th time being hospitalized in the same facility.

His wedded wife Rose, and having been adopted by the Muslim faith (adopted name "AMANSALI"), his Muslim spouse Josefina, 6 children (Benjamin Jr., Antonio, Fernando, Marian, Yasmin & Ybramin), 15 grand children and 3 great grand children survive him. All of his children have graduated from college with the exception of his youngest, Ybramin who is currently a Junior college student at Letran College.
Attorney Benjamin Alonzo was the Senior Partner of Alonzo, Alonzo and Associates Law Firm located at Calamba Professionals' Center, a former President of the Rotary Club of Calamba-J.P. Rizal, former President of Election Officers of Laguna (ERCAL). He also served as a President of the Canossa Academy Family Education

Council, former President of Parents Association, Laguna Institute, former member, Calamba Lions Club, former Section-Chief-At-Large, Presidential Anti-Graft Committee, former professor of Law, former Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Calamba, Laguna, former Legal counsel, Federation of Free Farmers, Defender of the Poor and the Oppressed, a nationalist, grandnephew of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, a loving husband, a great father.

His mortal remains lied in state at the family residence at M. H. del Pilar street, Calamba, Laguna until the last day, when his body was moved to the Calamba Municipal hall for a wake and a service. He was finally interned at Calamba Catholic Memorial Park after a Memorial Service at the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist which began at 2 in the afternoon.#
