LINE DANCING LESSONS DURING DINNER-DANCE PARTIES!

FOR LESSONS
DURING PARTIES:

I am appalled by it! I feel that it is the lowliest of all. More, they take/use the best songs/beat there is and make a line dancing steps about it. Just when I feel like dancing my hearts out and show my best arm and leg extensions, I am limited by the number of people around me in "unison" dancing a certain step that the "DJ" or "band leader"/DI is leading. I could not move around. My dancing space is limited as I might "bump" into these line-dancing students. When I dance, I want it to be free, unhindered, "unplanned", spontaneous and natural! Not the very limiting "hut, 2 and 3 and 4" , turn around, and 2, and 3, etc." It does not feel right.

You could just imagine, the best songs, the ones that would make anyone tap their shoes even from their seats are the very ones these line dancing and self appointed "D.I.s" monopolizes for their line dancing lessons! For crying out loud. Jeez… And why do we have to line dance just about "EVERYTHING"? They line dance the cha-cha, tango, and get this, even waltz! What are we left with? And have you heard anybody who remembered what they learned during the party the day after? Moreover, most of the dances are nothing more than a convoluted mixture of the Electric Slide, Achy Breaky and Todo Todo anyway. How about some innovations out there?
Don't get me wrong. I like line dancing. But too much of it is just that. TOO MUCH! It takes away the fun. Moreover, why in the world do we have to learn line dancing during parties? Are we supposed to learn our table manners during dinner time also (since it is a DINNER/DANCE party). I could just imagine, "Okay ladies, pick up your utensils. Use the silver from the outermost part first. Don't talk with your mouth full, do not chew your food with your mouth open…." Ridiculous right? We should have learned that at home or somewhere else, NOT DURING the party. The same goes for dancing too! Learn it somewhere else, not during the party. And hey, Achy Breaky, Macarena, Aring-king-king, Todo-Todo, Electric Slide is good enough. Maybe a couple of repeats for the Slide and Todo-todo, but for everything? Give us a break. Social events must be social with all its connotations. Let us give it the mark. #AMA

We must understand what a party is! A party is get together to have fun, and if people are having fun, why spoil it?

Line dancing allows those people without partners to dance. Some people have partners, but their partners/escorts are too shy to dance, yet with line-dancing, they are able to dance and enjoy as well. More, it is not that embarrassing to be out of step, as everybody is just learning. This way, more people take the courage of getting out there to the dance floor to strut their stuff.

In this modern life of ours, very seldom do we find people who have the luxury of taking dance lessons elsewhere. For some of us, the party is it. More, it breeds camaraderie. The D.I.'s who teach during the party are doing a lot of us a favor. Hey, like they said, if it feels good, if you are having fun, do it! #AMA
